About Healthy Marshall
The Marshall County Hospital and Marshall County Health Department partnered to coordinate the 2016 – 2019 Mobilizing for Action Through Community Partnerships (MAPP) Community Health Assessment and Improvement Planning process. We have collaborated on many projects realizing that together we accomplish more. Through this joint venture we learned, from the citizens’ perspective, our strengths and opportunities for improvement in the health care services we provide and in the health of our community.
Citizens identified Obesity, Substance Abuse, and Mental/Behavioral Health as strategic initiatives to work to improve. The Marshall County Health Coalition was formed in February of 2016 to work on the issues identified. Over 70 community partners actively participate in coalition activities. The coalition meets quarterly but stays connected by an email distribution list between meetings. To date, six workgroups have formed to address strategic initiatives and coalition sustainability. These workgroups meet more often than the large coalition and provide updates at the quarterly meetings. These workgroups include: Infrastructure Workgroup, Communications Workgroup, Obesity Workgroup, Mental/Behavioral Health Workgroup, Substance Abuse Workgroup, and Access to Care Workgroup.
Together we strive to improve the health and well-being of Marshall County by providing valuable services through community collaboration.
A healthy Marshall County, where all communities are thriving and all people have what they need for optimal health and well-being.
