Data Warehouse

Each year, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) receives custom tabulations of American Community Survey (ACS) data from the U.S. Census Bureau. These data, known as the “CHAS” data (Comprehensive Housing Affordability Strategy), demonstrate the extent of housing problems and housing needs, particularly for low income households. The CHAS data are used by local governments to plan how to spend HUD funds, and may also be used by HUD to distribute grant funds.

The UK CDAR BHOS team conducts an annual outcome evaluation for the Recovery Kentucky Centers. The Recovery Centers were developed as residential settings for individuals to engage in self-help approaches to maintain abstinence and improve their odds of recovery from addictive levels of alcohol and drug use. Recovery Centers are not treatment facilities. They are housing environments in which individuals can pursue active use of self-help supports in gaining and maintaining recovery from alcohol and drug dependence.

CDC WONDER

CDC Wide-ranging ONline Data for Epidemiologic Research (CDC WONDER) is a public resource. This application makes many health-related data sets available to CDC staff, public health departments, researchers, and others. The data help with public health research, decision making, priority setting, program evaluation, and resource allocation.

Kentucky Data Warehouse

The purpose of this site is to make data more accessible to enable better decision making. Our intent is that program managers and prevention staff throughout Kentucky will be able to access comprehensive data to inform their decisions and bring about a more cost-effective utilization of resources in the prevention of substance abuse.

KIDS COUNT DATA CENTER

The Annie E. Casey Foundation funds a nationwide network of state-level KIDS COUNT® (LA INFANCIA CUENTA™) grantees to track the well-being of children in the United States. By providing high-quality data and trend analysis through its KIDS COUNT Data Center, the Foundation seeks to enrich local, state and national discussions concerning ways to secure better futures for all children — and to raise the visibility of children’s issues through a nonpartisan, evidence-based lens.

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Data Archive (SAMHDA)

SAMHDA is an initiative of the Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality (CBHSQ),  Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). CBHSQ has primary responsibility for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of SAMHSA’s mental health data.

The data.HRSA.gov website (previously known as the HRSA Data Warehouse) provides maps, data, reports, and dashboards to the public about HRSA’s health care programs. The data integrates with external sources, such as the U.S. Census Bureau, providing information about HRSA’s grants, loan and scholarship programs, health centers, and other public health programs and services.

Rural Health Information Hub (RHIhub)

The Rural Health Information Hub, formerly the Rural Assistance Center, is funded by the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy to be a national clearinghouse on rural health issues. They are committed to supporting healthcare and population health in rural communities.

Drug Overdose Deaths in the United States

This tool allows researchers, policymakers, journalists, and the general public to create county-level maps illustrating the relationship between community and population demographics and fatal drug overdoses—including opioids—in the United States. Insights derived from this tool can be used to target resources and interventions, and inform media coverage related to overdose deaths in the U.S.

Drug Overdose Prevention

KIPRC serves both as an academic injury prevention research center and as the KDPH’s designee or “bona fide agent” for statewide injury prevention and control, focusing on injury prevention translation and practice.
