Healthy Fulton has been working on installing Community Gardens in Fulton City and Hickman City. The inmates at the Fulton County jail were supplied with materials that were bought from a grant obtained from the Healthy Fulton coalition to build the community gardens. The gardens were built in April 2018 and transported to the Hickman City Housing Authority. Freshman from Fulton County High School spent a day volunteering to install the raised beds in the ground, and load 5 to transport to Fulton City Willingham Center. The raised bed were raffled off to families within the county to grant them better access to fresh food. An employee with the Hickman City Housing Authority has volunteered to take responsibility of one box to donate food grown to a local food pantry. An employee with Fulton City School worked with students participating in the Summer Feeding Program at the Willingham Center in taking care of the gardens.
