Lourdes Hospice and Palliative Care is dedicated to supporting patients and their families throughout life during times of transition, illness, death and grief. Hospice believes that everyone has the right to the best care possible, including relief of pain, and other symptoms. Palliative Care services are available for those who are not in need of hospice care but who do have incurable and progressive diseases. Palliative care addresses the symptomsof a disease regardless of life expectancy, while hospice care addresses those symptoms when the patients life expectancy can be thought of in months rather than years. Both Palliative and Hospice Care involves a team-oriented approach to expert medical care, pain and symptom management, emotional and spiritual support expressly tailored to the patient’s needs and wishes.
