SCRIPT® Training Workshop: Tobacco Cessation for Pregnant Women Healthcare professionals and community organizations that work with pregnant women are invited to participate in a FREE four-hour workshop. The workshop is designed to train healthcare professionals and community organizations that work with pregnant women to help them stop using tobacco by implementing a program called SCRIPT® – Smoking Cessation and Reduction in Pregnancy Treatment Program, an award-winning, evidence-based program shown to be effective in helping thousands of pregnant women quit smoking. Participants in the SCRIPT® Training Workshop, will walk away knowing how to: • Identify the dangers of smoking • Discover the rates and trends of tobacco use • Discuss the purpose of SCRIPT • Examine the evidence base of SCRIPT • Explain ways to screen for tobacco use • Identify the components of SCRIPT Program • Demonstrate a SCRIPT intervention session Participants will receive: a Pregnant Women’s Guide to Quit Smoking and comprehensive training guide and a starter-pack of materials. Training is pending approval the Kentucky Board of Nursing for 4.0 contact hour of continuing education credit for registered nurses.
